
Welcome to SteelForFood. I am an avid home cook who ventured into the world of handmade kitchen knives. I believe that knife making is one of the greatest examples of functional art in our world. It is a craft that has been critical to all cultures and peoples throughout history.
We live in a world that is fast paced and increasingly mechanized, and I wanted to use this space as a way to slow things down. To open a window into the mind and lives of these modern-day artisans.
In time I hope to feature many knife makers from all over the globe. Find out more about their process, where they came from, what drives them forward. I will showcase examples of their work and give the opportunity to comment on the interview.
Community is so important, and so I encourage you all to interact and reach out to the makers. If you happen to have or had previously owned any of the work from any of the makers featured, I invite you to share your experiences.
At the end of the day these knives are tools, and we use them to make the food that we use to sustain us each day, draw family and friends closer, and celebrate are most important moments. So, if you want to see food featured as well, please let me know.
